Jim Nelson first came to KSFY Action News as a sports intern in the summer of 2008. He returned as the morning reporter in January 2009.

Prior to joining KSFY, Jim worked for a variety of radio stations providing play-by-play coverage of sporting events. In 2007, he was the voice of the St. Cloud River Bats baseball club.

A Minnesota native, Jim grew up in New Brighton, a Twin Cities suburb. He is a 2008 graduate of Southwest Minnesota State University, where he earned a degree in Speech Communication: Radio/TV. In addition to speech related activities, Jim was a four-year member of the SMSU football team.

In his spare time, Jim enjoys hanging out with friends and family. And while he no longer works in sports, he remains an avid sports fan; following the Twins, Vikings and Wild religiously.
