NANCY NAEVE BROWN - News Anchor/Reporter

I have been a proud member of the KSFY Action News team since June of 1992. A lot has changed in that time, the community, the area, and me. This area is home to me. I was born and raised in Spencer, Iowa, graduated from the University of South Dakota in 1990 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communication, minor in Spanish and an emphasis in Speech.

I'm so excited to be taking over the duties as our health reporter and working daily on the Avera Medical Minute. I will be interviewing healthcare professionals within the Avera network weekly during KSFY Action News Live At 5:00 and doing stories in our Avera Medical Minute segment that airs on KSFY Action News Live At 10:00.

You may have noticed a name change and it's been a great change for me. I got married to the love of my life Shannon Brown on June 15, 2008 in Jamaica. Shannon has two wonderful children Parker and Phoebe whom I love and as a bonus they all get along with my baby, George, my 8 year old  American Eskimo dog. Shannon and I are also the proud parents to baby Lucy. We got the smooth coated black Doxi in December. She is sweet, but George would argue differently.

Tom Brokaw Award.
She is the third woman to earn the
annual award named after the
South Dakota native.

I'm lucky to have my family in the viewing area too. My mom lives in Orange City and my sister and her family live in LeMars.

Through the years I have found great joy in volunteering for MDA, SD Special Olympics, Center for Active Generations, Make-A-Wish Foundation of SD and the School Based Mentor Program and I'm a past board member of  DakotAbilities.

I'm blessed to work with great people and meet other great people everyday. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for watching.

You can catch me weeknights on KSFY Action News Live At 5:00
