TIM PETERS - Weekend Sports Anchor

Tim is originally from Washington, Missouri, a town 40 miles west of St. Louis. He started working at KSFY in March of 2004 as the Weekend Sports Anchor and Weekday Sports Reporter.

Tim attended college at Webster University in St. Louis where he graduated with a B.A in Broadcast Journalism, with an emphasis in Sports Reporting and a minor in History and Political Science. Tim was also a member of the Webster soccer team.

Tim says according to his mother, he was destined to be in sports since the time he was a young boy. His mother recalls numerous times Tim would sit in front of computer doing play by play of the game he was playing.

Tim interned at KDNL (ABC) and KTVI (FOX) in St. Louis. He was also a reporter for KFNS Radio doing live updates during breaks of their high school football game of the week. Through his internships, Tim says he knew a job in the media business was what he wanted to do with his life.

After graduating from college in 1999, Tim found his first job in November of 1999 at KTVO Television in Kirksville, Missouri. Tim was the Weekend Sports Anchor for two years before being promoted in August of 2001 to Sports Director. Tim is a six time Iowa Broadcast News Association Award winner, including two first place awards for best sportscast and best sports feature.  He's also won four awards from the South Dakota Associated Press.

While working at KTVO, Tim met his wife, Lisa. Lisa is the head volleyball coach at the Universtiy of Sioux Falls and the two were married in April of 2005. When not at work, and not driving to Lisa's matches, you can find Tim golfing, running with his best friends, Sarge and Beau or doing his best to keep his yard in tip top shape.

Tim is an avid St. Louis sports fan and watched his beloved Cardinals clinch the 2006 World Series from the anchor chair 20 seconds before he hit the air for sports. Despite Thor's feelings that he will one day become a Twins or Vikings fan, Tim says he will always bleed red and blue.

Tim has an older brother, Doug, who is deaf. He is an electrical engineer in Kansas City and he has a younger sister named Kristen, who graduated from Med School at Washington University in St. Louis as an audiologist.  She works for Children's Hospital in Detroit and currently resides in Windsor, Canada, where she lives with her husband, Aaron.

You can catch Tim on the weekends anchoring the sports at six and ten,  You can always get Tim's latest thoughts on the sports world by checking out his blog, Tim's Sports Topics.
