Phil schreck

Phil Schreck is the Senior Meteorologist at KSFY-TV. An Iowa native, Phil came to us in September of 1988, after starting his career as a weekend meteorologist and weekday reporter at KCRG-TV in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Among many of his awards, Phil is a member of the American Meteorologist Society and has received the AMS broadcast Seal of Approval. His time at KSFY-TV has made him a well-known and quite popular media figure. He was voted the best Sioux Falls weathercaster by Tempest magazine and the best weathercaster in the state by Eyes on You magazine.  Phil also received the best weathercast award from the South Dakota Associated Press and was voted best Meteorologist in Sioux Falls by the Sioux Falls Argus Leader Newspaper.

Phil was born in Carroll, Iowa and traveled often while growing up due to his father's military service. He graduated from Seoul American High School in Seoul, Korea and received his Bachelor's Degree in meteorology from Iowa State University in 1986.

Phil and his wife Kristie have enjoyed making Sioux Falls home for their son, Jacob, two daughters, Samantha and Madeline, and twin boys Gabriel and Lucas.

When he's not keeping an eye on the sky, Phil enjoys reading, jogging and playing basketball along with spending time with his family.
