Everyone was sick at the Allen house this weekend, except Brian!

By Brian Allen

You might remember last Friday I wrote about how Austin got REALLY sick Wednesday night into Thursday morning. I took Thursday off to help and then worked a partial day Friday. Well, here's what happened Friday night after the 10PM news. Let's just say the story just keeps on giving.

So Friday night I got home about 11PM. 20 minutes after that, Cameron got sick. Almost immediately after that, Mandy got sick. Austin was asleep in bed, unaware any of this was happening. Without getting too in depth, it was an evening full of late night laundry. The next day, Austin, Cameron and Mandy were all down for the count. I was running around trying to take care of everyone. I made Austin a breakfast I thought his stomach could handle (meantime, I was taking his temperature every 15 minutes). I spent a good portion of the morning rocking Cameron and getting him to sleep. Mandy spent a good part of the day in bed, sleeping. Austin eventually joined her.

When we took Austin to the doctor's office on Thrusday morning, he told us Austin had come down with some type of viral infection. It is apparently something Austin, Cameron and Mandy all encountered. It was a rough weekend until about noon on Sunday, when somehow everything came together and all of them started to feel better. This morning, you wouldn't know any of them had been under the weather. Isn't it something the way illness can come and go just like that? Strange but true. So now, I'm wondering if the clock is ticking for me. I was just tired over the weekend; I never felt sick or anything close to sick. Was it something that Austin, Cameron and Mandy encountered but I didn't? I guess we'll see. I assume that whatever it was, if I had it I would be sick by now as well. So far I'm not. And again, the most important part is that Mandy and the boys are better and now feeling fine.

Quote Of The Day: "Get out of the way!" Mandy Allen late on Friday night. You can guess the circumstance.

This Day In History: The first train robbery west of the Mississippi River was pulled off by Jesse James and his gang on this date, July 21st, 1873.
