Sometimes I hesitate to write about issues of religion and personal beliefs. But it's part of my life, part of what I think about and part of something I want to share with you.
A couple of days ago, I came to a realization. It's not a new realization, but rather it's one I come to again and again through time. It's the idea that there are many things that are just out of your control and the best you can do is take a deep breath and turn it over to a higher power. For me, that is God. I know many of you come from varied and different backgrounds but I would hope you would have a positive higher power you can turn to for relief from the hectic life we all lead.
The reason I say I come to this realization again and again is because I tend to be an independent sort; not wanting to ask for help and sometimes, thinking I don't need any help. It's one of my personal battles; being stubborn and thinking I can handle the weight of my personal world on my shoulders with no problem. It's only when I think about how good it would feel to have someone to carry the burden with me that I remember I do have someone there, with me daily, if only I will ask for the help and accept it. I think it's something we all struggle with but I think if we all remember to take that breath, to step back and to remember there is a higher power with a greater calling....one that overcomes all treachery, lies, deceit and stress....then it helps us to re-focus our lives and to even the rocky road of life.
I know there will be some of you who will read this and be skeptical of religion. I hear from you every once in a while through e-mails. You know what? It's fine if you disagree with me. It is your right to have your own personal belief system. But I have one as well and as I respect yours, please respect mine.

Something You Should Check Out: Ever have a song which instantly makes you sentimental? One of those songs, for me, is "In My Life" by The Beatles. A simple melody with simple words but a beautiful piece of music. Please take a listen and tell me what, if anything, this song makes you think of.
