That's Why I Just Don't Buy It!

When I first moved out on my own and into my apartment in Sioux Falls I made the decision to eat as healthy as responsibly possible. After I ate all the junk that I had brought with me, I didn't buy anymore. I have a few soft spots that I just don't buy anymore. Like Oreos, Girl Scouts Thin Mints, and any kind of Coke or pop or whatever you call it. Last week myself and some friends were making a BBQ sauce that called for a can of coke. So rather than just buying one can, I bought a twelve pack. I used the one can and we each had one or two while cooking. That left about 6 in my fridge.

Yesterday after working out I came home and downed about a gallon of water and then decided a coke sounded good. I had a can of coke and then sat on the couch. It tasted so good! But then I remembered why I didn't drink it anymore. I just started feeling bad, as in my stomach was hurting. After about 30 minutes or so I felt better. I ate dinner and decided to have another coke, only to feel bad once again.

Now I remember why I just don't buy anything that is not that healthy for you. I guess I've just trained my body to not like that stuff. I still do have a lot of fried foods and other greasy foods, but I don't keep them in the home which is a big help. Actually, I remember one time I just stopped drinking coke for Lent. I weighed in before and after the time period and I was stunned at the results I saw. I lost 10 pounds by just not drinking coke. Now that's better than any of those fad diets!

Pop in general is poison! The high fructose corn syrup can give you all kinds of illnesses. Mexico and Canada pop is sweetened with sugar the govt's of those countries know how bad HFCS is for a body. But it is cheaper so in the US money is king and the health of the people takes a back seat. Don't drink pop it will not only make you feel bad it can kill you!

Fascinating insight into Coke. I guess there is more inside that can than we might thing. You mention working out. I am curious about your training program. I started a simple program last September and would be interested to compare notes. polson@itctel.com
