If you've read my blog in the past, you'll know I'm a huge football fan. It doesn't matter who's playing I'll probably watch it. I won't miss big games, such as the one this weekend between the University of Southern California and Ohio State University. You can catch that game this Saturday at 7pm on KSFY, followed immediately by KSFY live at 10 (had to get the promotional part of this stuff in) But here's the thing: I have no idea who I really want to win!!!
I never cheer for these team except in desperate situations. I think both of their programs are somewhat fishy on their recruiting. Examples would be how Reggie Bush's Mother got a home while he was in College and how Maurice Clarett drove new cars all the time. By the way, both of those players had huge roles in both teams winning national championships in the past. I'm never a fan of teams that cheat in anyway shape or form. Just look back on my blogs about Indiana University and Kelvin Sampson.
So what will I do this weekend. Well I've got to bite the bullet and cheer for the Buckeyes. The ONLY reason is that they're in the Big Ten and I'm not a big fan of the Pac-10 (I need to apologize to one of our producers who attended a Pac-10 school). But really the whole time I'm going to feeling unfaithful to my Boilermaker roots. I'm really scared too that if Ohio State wins this game they can run the table and go to another (third in a row) National Championship and lose to the SEC once again. That would be terribly embarrassing to the Big Ten, something I don't want.
If you think this was a hard decision just wait until Notre Dame and USC play later this year. I had a friend in College that use to cheer for a Stadium Collapse when two teams he didn't like played each other. I'm not going to take it that far, but tie should do or maybe even a cancellation of the game.
On a bit of a side note, I think the game will actually be decided by two touchdowns or more. The Trojans are just too fast and too talented for the Buckeyes. Especially if Chris "Beany" Wells isn't playing.
