Come On Brett

Tools

By Tim Peters

I'm back from my wonderful 12 day vacation. Had a blast as I witnessed a Cardinals win (Troy Glaus hit a walk-off HR) and watched my sister get married. It was a great get-away and was something my wife and I sorely needed. Sad thing was it went by to fast.

But onto the topic of the blog, as I was getting ready for work today, the latest turn in the soap opera regarding Brett Favre's return to the NFL took another twist. After being denied his request to be released, Favre was then told he COULD come back and play for the Packers, but only as their backup QB. After learning that, Favre then asked if he could be an assistant coach. That request too was denied. This whole story is getting ridiculous and I'm tired of listening to every talk show host blab about it over and over.

Favre is the Roger Clemens of the NFL. He wants to play, but doesn't want to practice. Heck, we'd all love to do that.

I must say I'm neither a Viking or Packers fan, but I do appreciate what Favre did on the field. But by going back and forth on, does he want to play, does he not want to play, to me is ruining his legacy. Get the hint Brett, it's time to hang it up. Ride into the sunset on top as a legend....not a guy who couldn't make up his mind. There's a reason why the Packers are retiring your number the FIRST game of the year. They are ready to move on and so is this guy.
