One of my least favorite parts of the day is straightening my hair with a flat iron.  It's something I've done almost every single weekday for the past four years.  But it hasn't lessened my distaste for it.  Those who know me personally, know that my hair is naturally curly. So when I'm not at work, my hair looks nothing like it does on TV.  It's just easier that way.  I've had many family members, friends, even total strangers tell me that they like my hair better when it's curly...rather than straight.  Unfortunately, when my hair is curly on tv...it makes it look....huge.  I have to admit it's probably more professional to go with a straight hairdo.  But for me, it's quite a bit of work.

When you throw weather into the mix, the process of straightening my hair takes even longer. The least bit of humidity puts waves right back in. The bottom starts to flip up, and if left unattended, by the end of the day, it will be slightly curly again.  In the whole scheme of things, I realize this is not a big deal.  But I guess we all have things we do every day that we'd rather skip.  For me, the 20 minutes it takes to pull the curl out of my hair could be better spent in another way.  Maybe, when my TV days are over, I'll pick a new career...one where it doesn't matter if my hair is curly...every day.
