We have a producer here at KSFY who's from Florida.  Yesterday I heard her tell someone that for the first time since she's lived in South Dakota, the temperature and humidity felt  just right.  I'm happy this feels like home to her.  But for me, it's the part of summer I don't like all that much.  Now before I get started, I should tell you that I try not to complain about the weather. I figure there's nothing we can do about it anyway, so we might as well focus our energies on something else. 

That said...the heat and humidity are my least favorite combination.  While I don't love subzero temperatures, I can handle them a lot better than the hot, sticky weather.  My best friend's mom also loves the heat...and the more humid the better.  I wish I could learn to appreciate it as much.  Maybe for the next several weeks I'll try playing mind games on myself.  When I'm out in the heat, I'll try to imagine it's Florida. Maybe dreaming that I'm on a tropical vacation will help me forget my hair is getting frizzier by the second and I'm sweating through my suit.  I'll give it a shot, but in the meantime, I'm counting the days until autumn.
