This is kind of a long Monday for fellow anchor Nancy Naeve Brown and me. The two of us, Nancy's husband and fiance Thom went to Sioux City for the Little Big Town/Carrie Underwood concert last night. We went early so we could spend a little time on Historic 4th Street in Sioux City. I have to admit, I haven't been back for any length of time since I switched jobs almost 5 years ago. It was amazing to see all of the changes that have happened since then. I was especially impressed by the huge theater complex downtown, that was still in the construction stages when I left. After taking a walk down memory lane, we headed to the concert and had a great time. Both Little Big Town and Carrie Underwood sounded great. The only hiccup was the pouring rain we had to run through to get to our car several blocks away.
I had to work on Saturday, but still got to see a bit of the Husker game. Of course, I was hoping for a happier ending. But I still got to watch the Twins win against the Royals on Sunday afternoon. As I type this, the White Sox are finally playing the Tigers after a rain delay this afternoon. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the Twins can clinch the Division Title without having to play the tie-breaker tomorrow.
I haven't heard from Brian Allen who's been in Italy for almost a week now. I assume all is well and that he's enjoying the sights, sounds and tastes of that region. In the meantime, I'm gearing up for a busy Monday, while savoring good memories of a fun but short weekend.
