So Long, Season

By Leslie Rupiper

Today's a little depressing. Fiance Thom and I...like the rest of the Minnesota Twins fans...saw the season come to an anti-climactic end last night.  It's been an exciting few weeks as we saw the Twins try and win another division title. It was hard to believe that a season of 162 games would come down to the 163rd.  When I was in the midst of my pity party last night, I kept thinking, couldn't they have won just one more game somewhere along the season? But Thom was quick to tell me, that's not the point.  He says the White Sox were the better team, last night, at least.  I'm not quite sure I'm convinced.  In the end, I say, it's only baseball.

It will be a long winter, until spring training starts again.  While I will watch the World Series, it won't be the same without Mauer, Morneau, Gomez and the gang. For those of you still cheering on your favorite baseball team, I wish you luck.  For you Twins fans...there's always next year.

Look on the bright side. The Twins lasted one game longer than the Mets.
