How Fast The Year Goes

By Leslie Rupiper

My mom recently emailed me a picture of my niece, Alexis,  while she was playing at my aunt's house.  You can see it at the top of the page.  The reason I'm even bringing it up, is because shortly after emailing that picture, my mom sent one from last October.  In it, you can see Alexis opening up the Halloween card I gave her.  She looks like a little baby!  You can compare the pictures for yourself!

Alexis is blessed to have two very tall parents, and from the looks of things, she will inherit their height.  My sister-in-law says it's not uncommon for people to think that Alexis is already 3 years old. In reality, she won't even turn 2 until next month.  If you're already a mom, dad, grandma or grandpa, you know how time flies when it comes little ones.  Since I'm a first-time aunt, it still seems unbelievable to me!  I can still vividly remember the day Alexis was born, and it seems like yesterday! I guess that's why they always say never let your kids grow up too fast.  They'll take care of that on their own, naturally.

The picture made me realize how important it is to treasure Alexis at whatever stage she's in along the way. Because next year at this time, I'll be looking back at this picture and wondering where the time went!
