Squirrel Removal Successful

By Chris Studer

About three weeks ago I posted about the dead squirrel found in my yard. Here's the link if you missed that one. But I'm happy to report that his corpse (or her I suppose, I didn't investigate that part of it) will no longer use my backyard as its final resting place. Last night I finally mowed my yard and finally got that squirrel out. I procrastinated because, well because it's gross. I know I should've done it earlier, but I just couldn't make myself go outside and scrape a dead squirrel out of the grass. Not my idea of fun whatsoever.

So I got out two garbage bags (I double bagged it just in case) put on some gloves, pulled my shirt over my nose and scraped at him until he came up. It smelled awful (I really have no idea how long he's been there. My daughter just discovered him a couple of weeks ago) but I tried to get it done as fast as I could because the smell was horrendous.

But now it's over. I have a freshly cut yard, and it's free of decomposing rodents. Plus I have a battle scar to prove I did the yard work. I bent over while getting my lawnmower out of the backyard shed, but stood up too fast and drilled my head on a screw. If you watch the morning show, you might notice a big old scrape on my forehead. But it's cool, I think it makes me look tough...at least a little anyway. Ok, maybe not.

I'm sure it's a manly scar, right, Chris? Makes my head hurt just thinking about it!
