(KSFY) - The Minnehaha County Sheriff's Office is warning businesses about recent reports of forged video lottery tickets.
Capt. Jason Gearman said the Minnehaha County Sheriff’s Office, the Brandon Police Department, the Sioux Falls Police Department and the Brookings Police Department have received reports of two suspects forging video lottery tickets.
The suspects changed the amount on the ticket and then presented it to the clerk to cash in for a much larger amount, Gearman said.
The sheriff's office wanted businesses with video lottery casinos to be aware of the forgeries and urges them to be extra vigilant when checking the winning tickets.
