SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KSFY) - Christmas at the Western Mall has raised thousands of dollars for area children since opening last month.
Officials with the light show said more than $18,000 in free-will donations have been collected so far for Make-A-Wish South Dakota.
The show opened on Thanksgiving and runs through New Year's Day from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. It runs about 15 minutes with a three minute intermission between sets.
Officials said they hope to raise $20,000 before the show ends for the year.
Last year Make-A-Wish South Dakota granted 72 wishes across the state. To qualify, children must be between the ages of 2 ½ and 18 and diagnosed with a life-threatening medical condition at the time of referral.
