SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KSFY) - Sanford Children's Hospital and Results Radio are teaming up for the 10th annual Results Radio Cure Kids Cancer Radiothon.
Local radio hosts have been broadcasting live from the Carlson Hall at the Children's Hospital for the 24-hour event.
Organizers say the event is crucial to make sure kids in South Dakota get the care they need.
"It costs five times as much to care for a child as it does for an adult, though equipment and specialized programs we need here at the hospital, and that is really primarily funded through our Sanford Health Foundation, so this radiothon is so important to our community and to Sanford," Sanford Cure Kids Cancer program director Erin Sanderson said.
Every dollar counts during this radiothon, so if you would like to donate there is still plenty of time.
The event continues through 6 p.m. Friday.
