MITCHELL, S.D. (KSFY) - School officials say Dakota Wesleyan University has finished an ambitious fundraising effort years ahead of schedule.
According to Director of Communications Mari Olson, the university raised $41.5 million of capital over the past four years. The campaign had initially aimed to raise $40 million within seven years.
DWU officials made the announcement Thursday.
The school launched the "Greater Wesleyan" campaign in 2013. Olson said the funds were used to build a new wellness complex and black box theatre, as well as fund scholarships and faculty positions.
