SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (SIOUXFALLS.BUSINESS) - The Evangelical Lutheran Good Samaritan Society in Sioux Falls laid-off more than 100 employees Tuesday.
It said that by eliminating the positions, approximately 15 percent of its workforce, the organization would be able to "meet today's fiscal challenges" while providing high-quality care for seniors.
“This change comes at an incredibly hard cost to good people who were affected by the staff reductions, and I deeply regret the impact it will have on their lives,” David Horazdovsky, President and CEO, said in a press release. “Each impacted team member is being provided with a package that includes compensation and transition services.”
The Evangelical Lutheran Good Samaritan Society employs nearly 21,000 people across the country.
