(KSFY) - The South Dakota Housing Development Authority (SDHDA) has launched a program to help recent graduates buy their first home in South Dakota.
The "Grants for Grads" program was announced by Gov. Dennis Daugaard this week. It aims to help recent graduates that are struggling financially while giving them an incentive to live in South Dakota.
Officials with SDHDA say the program will also help with workforce issues in the state.
"Workforce housing in South Dakota has been an issue," Mark Lauseng, SDHDA executive director, said. "I think employers all over are looking for people to work and not only keep people in South Dakota, but attract people from out of the state into South Dakota."
