LUVERNE, MN (KSFY) - A tradition 67 years strong continued in Luverne, Minnesota Saturday morning.
More than 2,500 students from 26 different schools participated in the city's annual Tri-State band festival that began with the traditional parade competition down Luverne's main street.
"Our kids were all in marching band, and they are all grown up now. But they came over here in the early 90s. We've been coming here ever since then," said Sioux Falls resident Douglas Guhlkey.
The Tri-State band festival continued with a field competition Saturday afternoon at Luverne's football field.
For the past 67 years, this event has hosted bands from all over South Dakota, Iowa, and Minnesota.
