Man killed in rollover crash near McLaughlin

McLaughlin, S.D. (KSFY) - A 37-year-old man was killed in a single-vehicle crash in north central South Dakota.

The accident happened Wednesday morning on U.S. Highway 12 about four miles east of McLaughlin.

According to Department of Public Safety spokesman Tony Mangan, the victim was driving an SUV when he swerved into the eastbound lane. The vehicle slid back across both lanes and ended up crashing into the north ditch and rolled several times.

Troopers say the driver was thrown from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene. He was not wearing a seat belt.

The identity of the victim has not been released. The Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
