Man who pleaded guilty to killing wife to be sentenced Thursday

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KSFY) - A Sioux Falls man that pleaded guilty in September 2017 to killing his wife will be sentenced on Thursday.

Authorities say Irving Jumping Eagle stabbed Alicia Jumping Eagle in their apartment near 13th Street and Spring Avenue in April 2017.

Irving fled the scene and was spotted at a gas station in Streeter, North Dakota where police said a witness told them he was washing what appeared to be blood off his hands.

The next day, Irving crashed his car into a bridge in Deuel County and abandoned the vehicle. Police arrested him a short time later.

Court records showed Alicia had filed multiple orders of protection against her husband.
