SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KSFY) - Two former editors have launched a new journalism venture.
Randall Beck and Jack Marsh held a press conference in Sioux Falls Tuesday to announce South Dakota News Watch, a non-profit organization that "is committed to in-depth journalism that enhances public understanding of complex statewide issues."
The news team will cover topics including agriculture, environment, education, energy, health and politics.
The non-profit is funded by individual donations, grants and media companies.
Marsh was the president/CEO of the Freedom Forum Diversity Institute before retiring in 2014, and Beck previously worked at Argus Leader Media. Both serve as the board of directors of South Dakota News Watch.
