More than 28,000 attended Sioux Falls Pheasant Fest, organizers say

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KSFY) - A national hunting exhibition held in Sioux Falls over the weekend drew more than 28,000 attendees, according to the events organizers.

The 2018 National Pheasant Fest and Quail Classic was held Friday through Sunday at the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center and Sioux Falls Convention Center.

According to Pheasants Forever, one of the event's organizers, 28,868 people attended the event over the three day period, making it one of the largest in the organization's history.

South Dakota Governor Dennis Daugaard attended a conservation banquet Saturday evening, where he issued his support for an expansion of the nation's Conservation Reserve Program.

Next year's festival will be held in the Chicago area.
