MITCHELL, S.D. - Dakotafest starts Tuesday and runs through Thursday in Mitchell. This year, the Reaves Innovation & Technology Center is something new that people can experience. It is located in the Northwest corner of the grounds. It has three buildings, which are the Reaves Building Systems Display, Technology and Innovation Exhibits and the Dakotafest Education Center.
Dakotafest is located in Mitchell at the Schlaffman Family Farm off of I-90 West. It is $10 per person to get into the show. People who are under the age of 18 get in for free. The show is open from 9:00 AM until 5:00 PM on Tuesday and Wednesday. On Thursday, it's open from 9:00 AM until 4:00 PM.
South Dakota State University will hold multiple educational seminars throughout the three-day show. They will also hand out free SDSU ice cream. The Northwest Vet Livestock tent is back again this year, and they will continue their "Dinner with Doc" series as well as have livestock chute demos at 10:30 AM and 2:00 PM daily.
