Off-duty officers witness man punch woman, take her money

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KSFY) - Police say a Sioux Falls man is behind bars after a couple of off-duty officers witnessed him punch a woman and then steal her money.

Public Information Officer Sam Clemens said the incident happened Tuesday just before 1 p.m. when the woman was walking out of a business near 14th Street and Minnesota Avenue to her car.

The man allegedly walked up to the woman, punched her several times and took cash.

The off-duty officers followed the suspect's vehicle for a short time and reported the incident and the vehicle's description and plates.

On Wednesday, police located the suspect in an apartment in the 100 block of N. Cleveland Avenue around 1:30 p.m. One of the off-duty officers who witnessed the incident was able to identify the suspect.

Officers arrested 56-year-old Jimmy Lee Bozeman Jr. for second degree robbery, and possession of marijuana and paraphernalia.
