SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KSFY) - Authorities say a car crashed into a minivan at a major Sioux Falls intersection, causing the van to crash into building.
The accident happened around 12:40 a.m. Thursday at the intersection of West 12th Street and Western Avenue.
According to Sgt. Martin Hoffman, a car failed to stop at a blinking red light and struck a van. The van then crashed into the exterior of a nearby bank, causing damage to the building's front doors.
Police say the accident resulted in minor injuries. The driver of the car was cited in the crash.
No one was inside the building at the time of the crash.
The accident is the latest in a series of car vs. building crashes in Sioux Falls. Since January 24, five vehicles have been involved in accidents with businesses or homes in the city. No one has been seriously hurt in any of those crashes, but several have resulted in charges against the driver.
