Police believe Sunday shooting was drug related

Anthony Niko Roman, the business owner where the shooting took place, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and paraphernalia.

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KSFY) - Police say they believe a shooting that injured one man early Sunday morning was drug related.

Public Information Officer Sam Clemens said two people were inside a business in the 1500 block of E. 10th Street Sunday around 4:50 a.m. when another man walked in, shot one of them in the leg and left.

The business owner called police, and the 35-year-old victim was taken to a hospital where he is still recovering, Clemens said.

Police issued a search warrant on the business after the victim refused to speak with detectives.

They found three meth pipes and arrested the business owner, 28-year-old Anthony Niko Roman of Sioux Falls, for possession of a controlled substance and paraphernalia.

Clemens said there is no lead on a suspect at this time and hopes the victim will cooperate with authorities.
