Police issue 91 citations during Friday night saturation patrol

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KSFY) - The Sioux Falls Police Department issued 91 citations during a saturation patrol on St. Patrick's Day.

Public Information Officer Sam Clemens said nine officers were working the saturation patrol beginning at 7 p.m. Friday and ending at 3 a.m. Saturday.

Clemens said of those 91 citations, six were for DWIs and 14 were for speeding. Others were for seatbelt violations, driver's license infractions and having no insurance.

"It was enough to keep them busy. Certainly shows this is the reason why we're doing saturation patrols and why we will continue doing them in the future," Clemens said.
