SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - The founder and creator of Day of the Dead salsa showed how to make an easy snack for a Super Bowl watch party. The owner is Jennilee Schleusner.
The recipe that she showed how to make on KSFY Morning News was a taco dip. It can be served hot or cold. She suggests serving with tortilla chips. She used her own salsa in the recipe but you can use any salsa to make the recipe. The recipe is below:
1 container of salsa
8 oz. Cream Cheese
8 oz. Sour Cream
1 bunch of Green Onions (chopped)
1/2 cup Shredded Cheese
1 cup Lettuce
2 oz. Sliced Black Olives
Mix the juice from the salsa, room temperature cream cheese, sour creeam and 1/4 cup of shredded cheese. Spread that mixture into a shallow baking dish. Top with lettuce, remaining cheese, and sliced black olives. Cool for 1 hour to set or bake in the oven to make a hot dip.
