SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KSFY) - Raven Industries announced Tuesday it has awarded South Dakota State University with $5 million for a new Precision Agriculture facility on campus.
SDSU is the first land grant university in the country to offer both a four-year degree and a minor in precision agriculture.
Raven's CEO called the gift an investment in the current and future workforce of South Dakota.
"We just came to believe that with the proper facilities on campus, that they could just take this to a whole new level," Dan Rykhus said. South Dakota will benefit from that greatly, and SDSU will, and Raven will."
A construction timeline for the facility will not be determined until lawmakers approve the project.
