It appears the Minnesota Vikings will get their free agent prize.
The former Washington Redskins quarterback will sign a three-year deal with the Vikings on Thursday, ESPN reports. WCCO reported a deal was likely early Tuesday morning.
Cousins will visit Minnesota Wednesday.
Several other teams, most notably the New York Jets, were bidding on the coveted free agent. Minnesota emerged as a frontrunner over the past few weeks.
The Vikings' quarterback situation has been in flux since the end of their surprising 13-3 season. Case Keenum, who started most the year, plans to sign a deal with the Denver Broncos, according to ESPN.
The fates of two other Vikings quarterbacks on the roster last year, Teddy Bridgewater and Sam Bradford, remains in question.
