SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KSFY) - The recent wanna-cry cyber attack on businesses around the world is one of the most successful in history.
That's why SDN Communications created an event to help their customers stay alert.
The company held a free event Tuesday where they talked with local businesses about cyber attacks, and tools that can be used to prevent them.
They said that cyber attacks across the world have dropped in the past year, but that businesses still need to take precautions.
"From 2016 to 2017 we saw a slight decrease, but it doesn't necessarily represent a relief or a sense of comport as far as those attacks going away, there is still a major concern for us and our customers," SDN Communications Director of Network Opperations Jake VanderWater said.
SDN will hold another event in Sioux City, Iowa on Thursday.
