SDSU women defeat USD to advance to NCAA Tournament

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KSFY) - The South Dakota State University women's basketball team is advancing to the NCAA Tournament.

The Lady Jackrabbits defeated the Coyotes 65-50 Tuesday afternoon at the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center in Sioux Falls.

SDSU took the lead early in the game with an 11-0 run on USD. The Coyotes responded with 9-2 run in the second quarter, but the Lady Jacks still led 23-18 with 3:05 left in the first half.

SDSU stretch its lead 33-20 going into halftime.

USD then out-scored SDSU 10-7 in the 3rd quarter but still trailed 40-30.

The win earns the Lady Jacks their eighth title in the past 10 years.

On the men's side, USD and SDSU will tip off at 8 p.m. in the Summit League Championship.
