Touchstone Energy Scholar of the Week: Nathan Hulscher

Our Touchstone Energy Scholar of the Week is Nathan Hulscher. He's a senior at Florence High School.

Nathan is an athlete. He's active in football, basketball and track while maintaining a 4.0 GPA.

He tells KSFY his favorite subject in school is math.

"I focus and listen to the teacher," Senior Nathan Hulscher said.

It works out well because that math teacher was the one who nominated Nathan to be our Scholar of the Week.

Superintendent Gary Leighton says Nathan stands out as a great student by how well he does in school and all that he does after school, too.

"He's a nice young man, has a high grade point average. He's very representative of this year's senior class that has quite a number of excellent students in academics and activities," Superintendent Gary Leighton said. "He's also a friendly young man. Gets along with virtually everybody. Teachers, classmates, younger students, everyone."

Nathan has a few things to figure out but he's looking forward to the future.

"I plan on attending college and I'm undecided where but for pre-med," he said.

Until then, he's got some simple words of advice for his fellow classmates.

"Do your best and don't mess around too much," Nathan said.

For being named our Scholar of the Week, Nathan receives a $100 scholarship from Codington-Clark Electric Cooperative which is a local Touchstone Energy Cooperative.
