SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KSFY) - It has been a big year for the Sioux Empire United Way.
On Tuesday, the organization announced it has met its fundraising goal for the 23rd year in a row.
The more than $10 million raised will help fund 89 different programs at 40 agencies across the Sioux Empire.
Campaign Chairman Bob Thimjon said they would not have reached their goal without help from the community.
"It's a very generous community that is committed to the United Way and making a difference in the lives of so many in our community," he said.
This year the United Way will also provide students with access to mental health counseling services through its new initiative called "PATH."
One-in-three people in the community benefit from Sioux Empire United Way partner programs every year.
