Sioux Falls Firefighters step up for 9/11 anniversary

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - The Step Up for Heroes event will take place on Saturday, September 16th at Howard Wood Field. It's an event to honor those who lost their lives in the 9/11 attack back in 2001. Participants will climb 110 flights of stairs in Sioux Falls to remember those who lost their lives in the Twin Towers. It's not a race and if that seems like a bit to undertake, participants can form a team.

It costs $40 to participate. Proceeds from this event are directly invested back in the community at the direct point of contact and need. Sioux Falls Firefighters are empowered to bring ideas of need that they see while working in the community and help out how they can. Examples like this can be buying school supplies for low income families or even buying a new car for a family in need.

Registration starts at 8:00 AM on Saturday, September 16th. A ceremony and memorial service will begin at 9:00 AM and the stair climb will begin at 9:30 AM.
