SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KSFY) - It is the season of giving, and one local boy is making sure to not only do his part now, but year round.
Donnie Stoltz is helping families all over Sioux Falls have a Merry Christmas.
He may be missing the red suit and white beard, but to the Callies, Donnie Stoltz could be Santa Clause.
"This is definitely going to make a difference in our Christmas season for sure," Kaysi Callies said.
Stoltz started Donnie's Closet last year to make sure every child has the opportunity to play sports.
He collects sports equipment and donates it to kids who want to play, but just can't afford it.
During this time of year though, he is also making sure every child has a gift at Christmas.
"I know what kids feel like when they don't get something they want, so I want to make sure that doesn't happen to kids who want to play sports," Stoltz said.
The Callies family is having trouble making ends meet this year after their mom had open heart surgery in July.
"I'm the only one working in the household right now," Callies said. "So it's definitely made a difference with having everyone help us."
Eight kids in the Callies family will now have something to open Christmas morning.
"I can't wait to show Mara the bike," Callies said. "She's seven and she's going to be so excited."
It is all thanks to a 13-year-old who wants to make sure everyone has the same opportunities that he does.
Donnie says right now they need a size seven men's snow boots and basketball shoes since that season is approaching.
