SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KSFY) - Police say an in-home day care in western Sioux Falls will be closed while they investigate where and when a child was injured.
Public Information Officer Sam Clemens said the investigation began after a "young child" was taken to a hospital from the home over the weekend. Police were called when it was discovered that the child had suffered multiple injuries over a few months.
Clemens said the injuries are non-life threatening such as broken bones.
The in-home day care near 22nd Street and Sertoma Avenue closed Wednesday. Police contacted the parents of the children who attend the day care.
Clemens said police could not reveal the age of the child injured because only a few kids attend the day care and it would be easy to identify the child, which would violate Marsy's Law.
