Sioux Falls man sentenced to 100 years for child sexual assault

A 39-year-old Sioux Falls man has been sentenced to 100 years in prison after being convicted in the rape of a minor girl.

Last August, Ivor Grove had taken the girl and two of her siblings on a swimming trip to Wall Lake. Prosecutors say following the swimming, Grove drove around on some nearby gravel roads with the three children in the car. At one point, Grove pulled over and forced the girl to go with him, leaving her two siblings in the car. It was at this point that Grove walked the girl behind a farm and raped her. Grove then drove all the children back home. The young female reported the assault and Grove was arrested. DNA evidence connected him to the assault.

Because Grove has a history of felony convictions and is considered a habitual offender he was subject to the maximum penalties in this case.
