Sioux Falls man lands role in movie 'Downsizing'

Sioux Falls, SD (KSFY) One Sioux Falls man landed a role in the newly released movie "Downsizing".

The movie is about an inventor that develops a way to shrink people down to about five inches tall.

Kevin Kunkel says he started out in independent films in Sioux Falls and he shot his scene in Downsizing in Toronto last May.

In Kunkel’s scene, he is sitting alongside Matt Damon in a bar discussing the idea of downsizing.

Kunkel says there isn’t always a lot of opportunity coming from the Midwest to star in a Hollywood film. So when one came up, he jumped at the chance.

"It's kind of humbling and it makes you feel good like you have accomplished something. Just watching how the whole process works is fascinating to me," Kevin Kunkel said.

Downsizing is now playing in theaters. For showtimes, see the attached link.
