Sioux Falls man to match online Feeding South Dakota donations

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KSFY) - You can double your donation to Feeding South Dakota through the end of the year, thanks to the generosity of a Sioux Falls resident.

Every online donation made through midnight on Dec. 31 will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to $10,000 by Chris Nelson, a Feeding South Dakota supporter for nearly a decade.

Each dollar donated online before the end of the year will provide 10 meals to people in the state.

Feeding South Dakota said one in eight people the state is at risk of going hungry, and that one in every six children struggle with getting regular meals on a daily basis.

“We are always so blessed by our community’s generosity during the holiday season. This end of year matching donation means that everyone’s support goes twice as far. We really can’t say thank you enough, not just for ourselves but for the children, families, and seniors we serve.” Feeding South Dakota CEO Matt Gassen said in a press release.
