SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (SIOUXFALLS.BUSINESS) - Jodi Schwan with SiouxFalls.Business stopped by the KSFY Studio to discuss the latest business news:
Get ready for some big growth in Harrisburg.
There are at least seven developers planning projects this year – lots of apartments, some single family homes, some villa homes, some retail development and some light industrial.
And it is in all areas of town, especially near the high school and on properties that will take advantage of an expanded Minnesota Avenue, which will be reconstructed this year.
Fareway definitely has helped further support growth and Ace Hardware won't be far behind. It's opening this spring.
And if all the development planned comes together, city planners think Harrisburg's 6,000-person population will double.
JJ's Wine, Spirits & Cigars is making progress with its expanded location.
It is a 10,000-square-foot space on 57th Street across from Vance Thompson Vision that will include a large retail area, a cocktail bar with a small menu, bake shop and patio, a wine cellar with space for tastings and an event space with room for all kinds of gatherings including movies.
It will be open by the end of June and there is other development on the way in the area. A new retail center will include Cambria and Stone Center and we expect other businesses won't be far behind.
