SiouxFalls.Business Report: September 12, 2017

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (SIOUXFALLS.BUSINESS) - Jodi Schwan with SiouxFalls.Business stopped by the KSFY Studio to discuss the latest business news:

You'll soon be able to charge your electric car at Hy-Vee.

Tesla is installing eight Supercharger stations on the west side of Hy-Vee at 26th Street and Marion Road. Supercharger stations can recharge a car that has been driven 170 miles in 30 minutes.

While Tesla will own and operate the equipment, Hy-Vee will cover the energy cost, which is $6.50 for a car. It's scheduled to be open in a week or two.

Hy-Vee has Tesla charging stations at 49 locations, and while there are plans to add more in Sioux Falls nothing has been confirmed yet.

Businesses are getting ready for Garth Brooks.

We've found several special promotions and unique ways that businesses are capitalizing on the approximately 100,000 country fans who will take in one of the nine concerts starting this weekend.

From specially designed art at downtown businesses Sticks and Steel and Rehfeld's, to Trisha Yearwood-inspired desserts at Josiah's, and lots of western wear promos at places like Chelsea's Boutique and Renegade at the Empire Mall.

The Convention and Visitor's Bureau is encouraging businesses to welcome Garth and Trisha with signs on the marquees and to do internal activities like inviting employees to dress in western wear.
