(KSFY) - State officials say a man has died from injuries he sustained in a three-vehicle crash several weeks ago in Sisseton.
According to Department of Public Safety Spokesman Tony Mangan, 61-year-old Tony Gutierrez died December 23. He was injured in a crash on December 11.
Mangan says a 1991 GMC Jimmy was driving on South Dakota Highway 10 when it attempted to turn into a parking lot. It collided with an a 2002 Pontiac Grand Am. The GMC overturned and slid into a 2004 GMC Yukon.
Gutierrez was a passenger in the GMC Jimmy. He was not wearing a seat belt, and received serious injuries. He was transported to a Sioux Falls hospital, where he later died.
The Driver of the Grand Am was not wearing a seat belt and received minor injuries. The driver of the GMC Jimmy was wearing a seat belt and was not hurt.
Authorities have not said whether anyone was cited in the crash.
