Study ranks South Dakota as second-best state for business

(KSFY) - A new study by a financial news website ranked South Dakota as one of the most business-friendly states in the country.

South Dakota ranked second in the analysis by 24/7 Wall Street.

According to the website, researchers ranked states on 47 measures compiled into eight categories. Those categories included economic conditions, business costs, state infrastructure, the availability and skill level of the workforce, quality of life, regulations, technology and innovation, and cost of living.

The study found that South Dakota made up for a lower median household income by being an inexpensive state to do business in, while also maintaining a business-friendly climate.

Massachusetts ranked first overall. North Dakota came in fourth, while Minnesota was seventh. Louisiana came in last.
