Sun Country cancels flights, customers told to find other flights home

Some Sun Country Airlines customers are upset with the airline's decision to cancel its flights from Mexico to Minneapolis because of this weekend's blizzard -- and then not reschedule them.

Some of those travelers were on a vacation getaway to Mazatlan, Mexico, including Desi Gaspar of Sioux Falls and her family. Desi works here at KSFY and says the airline has told her and others they will have to find other flights on their own to get back home. "With Sun Country refusing to honor their flight, refusing to help us rescheulde home, the flight home is going to cost about $3,400. In addition to that we had to extend our stay at a resort at $500 a night."

Desi says Sun Country has indicated to her that instead of a refund for the cancelled flight, they will give her a travel voucher that has to be used by May 3rd.

We contacted Sun Country for comment and hope to hear from them soon.
