The Compass Center hosts "It's in the Bag" in Sioux Falls

The Compass Center is a crisis center in Sioux Falls that continues to break the cycle of sexual and domestic violence. An event at the Sioux Falls Convention Center February 6th helps fund the center.

It's called 'It's in the Bag,' and doors open at 5 p.m. It's the 9th annual. There will be heavy appetizers and a silent auction as well as a live auction.

A short program begins at 6:00 pm will feature keynote speaker Matthew Sandusky, Founder and Executive Director of Peaceful Hearts Foundation. He was a victim of childhood sexual abuse from the ages of 8 to 17 at the hands of his adopted father, Jerry Sandusky. Matthew’s mission is to turn his traumatic personal experience into a mechanism to prevent childhood sexual abuse and help other survivors heal.

The Compass Center executive director Michelle Markgraf and assistant director Michelle Trent joined KSFY Morning News Friday. They shared more about where the funds will go.

Tickets for the event are $50. You can get them at the attached link.
